Jesus Will Never Leave You

If you have genuinely received Him.

Hebrews 13:5: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Judges 16:20: And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.

1 Samuel 9:27: And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God. 10:6 And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

1 Samuel 16:14: But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. 18:12 And Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, and was departed from Saul.

John 7:38: He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

John 16:7: Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

John 14:16: And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

There is a permanence about the presence of the Holy Spirit after Jesus* death and resurrection. Samson did not know when the Lord departed from Him. The Spirit also departed from Saul. The Holy Spirit coming upon men before the death and resurrection of Jesus was for some temporary. The Spirit coming upon men after the death and resurrection of Jesus is eternal.

2 Corinthians 1:22: Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Ephesians 1:13: In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Romans 8:9: But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

The Holy Spirit will never break the seal with which He has sealed us or the earnest in our hearts. We can grieve Him and quench Him and sometimes we can believe that we are filled with the Spirit when we are walking in the flesh. So how can we know the difference? By the presence or absence of these clues:

Galatians 5:22: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Ephesians 5:9: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

Acts 1:8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
